Si chiamerà Chimes Of Freedom: Songs Of Bob Dylan 
Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International e uscirà a fine gennaio 2012 (fra il 24 e il 30, sembra), l’album tributo a Bob Dylan che, come si intuisce già dal titolo, celebra un doppio anniversario: nel 1962 infatti vedono la luce sia l’associazione umanitaria Amnesty International, che il primo disco del cantautore americano.
Di album tributo per tutte le occasioni se ne sono visti a iosa negli ultimi anni, ma questo si discosta notevolmente per vari fattori. In primis, le dimensioni mastodontiche: 72 cover per più di 80 artisti, quale che sia il vostro pezzo preferito del nostro, state pur certi che qui dentro ne troverete una rilettura!
Per di più, a scorrere la lista dei nomi coinvolti, c’è da strabuzzare gli occhi sia per il livello degli artisti, che per la varietà di estrazione culturale/musicale/generazionale degli stessi. Si va da mostri sacri quali Patti Smith, Sting, Mark Knopfler, Pete Townshend, Elvis Costello, Joan Baez, Eric Burdon, a nomi di punta della scena pop attuale come Adele, Miley Cyrus, Ke$ha, Maroon 5, My Chemical Romance; passando per rock band dure e pure come Queens of the stone age, Silversun Pickups, Bad Religion e chi più ne ha più ne metta.
Cosa auspicabile e quasi ovvia, ma che è sempre meglio precisare in questi casi, i ricavati dell’operazione andranno interamente ad Amnesty International.
Quale effetto farà ascoltare un calderone del genere lo scopriremo fra pochi mesi, intanto vi lasciamo alla tracklist completa, che non dubitiamo darà già modo a molti di storcere il naso per un motivo o per un altro, o di temere di veder massacrate alcune delle canzoni più significative della storia del rock come non accadeva dai tempi del Pavarotti & Friends.
