Shakira torna con un nuovo singolo dal titolo Empire. Il brano è il secondo estratto dal nuovo lavoro discografico della cantante colombiana, album che porta il suo stesso nome, ovvero Shakira. Questo disco rappresenta il ritorno vero e proprio di Shakira sulla scena musicale, dato che il primo lavoro discografico dopo la gravidanza.
Empire come dicevamo è il secondo singolo estratto dal nuovo album, ricordiamo che il primo è stato Can’t Remember to Forget You. Dopo l’ascolto iniziale ora è disponibile anche il video ufficiale del brano. A dispetto del titolo, per cui ci si aspetterebbe atmosfere differenti, nel clip dio Empire troviamo una Shakira vestita a tratti da sposa e a tratti 
da dark lady.
Un parallelismo che vede la cantante in versione prima dolce e poi sexy. Che sia un po’ la trasposizione musicale di quello che è il carattere di Shakira? Potrebbe essere.
